Who writes this
Regulatory content on this site is written and maintained by the HazTeam Ready Editorial Team, which is how we refer to the people inside Henrych LLC who produce and review it. We do not attach invented author biographies or professional credentials to articles. If we ever publish content reviewed by a named outside specialist, that person will be named, with their actual qualification, on the page they reviewed — and nowhere else.
Sources we use, in order
- The regulation itself. The current consolidated text of 49 CFR Parts 171–180 at the eCFR. Where a page states a requirement, it cites the paragraph.
- PHMSA. Published guidance, letters of interpretation and training materials from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
- The U.S. Department of Transportation for material outside PHMSA's scope.
Where a question has no clean answer in the primary sources — and several common ones do not — we say so rather than manufacturing certainty.
Rules we hold ourselves to
| No invented authority | We never describe ourselves or our course as approved, accredited, certified or endorsed by DOT, PHMSA or any agency, because no such approval exists for this kind of training. |
| No invented proof | No testimonials, review scores, customer logos, completion statistics or student counts unless they are real and we can substantiate them on request. Today we publish none. |
| Limits are published, not buried | Every page that sells or describes the course also states what the course does not cover. The same limits are printed on the certificate and the training record. |
| Citation over assertion | A statement about what the rule requires carries the paragraph number. If you disagree, you can go read it. |
| Dated review | Every regulatory page shows the date it was last reviewed against the current text of the rule. |
Review cycle
Regulatory pages are reviewed against the current eCFR text at least once a year, and immediately whenever we become aware of a rulemaking that changes something we have published. The review date at the top of each page is the date of the last such check — not the date a word was last edited.
Telling us we are wrong
If something here is inaccurate, write to hello@hazteamready.com with the page and the paragraph you think it misreads. Corrections to substance are made on the page and the review date is updated. We would rather be corrected by a reader than by an inspector standing in one of our customers' warehouses.
